Just relaxing... Wednesday, March 25, 2009

~My up and coming little artist~

What a great day to relax :o) My family is feeling better so time to take a deep breath. Just sitting down with a cup of coffee with my feet up. The most exciting thing today has been making homemade playdough with my daughter. We started with just plain white and then Emma asked 'Mommy can we make pink?'. How could I say no to that face. With that said we made not only pink but also purple and yellow. I am such a sap LOL! Making the playdough was fun I must say! Sometimes we can overlook the simple things in life that our God in heaven has blessed up with. I keep thinking that my little girl is going to be grown up before we know it so any time that I can spend with her is priceless!

Thought I would share with everyone the picture that my daughter gave to me today! Made my day. She is always in the art studio with me and when she is not playing with playdough she is drawing. I think I need more fridge space LOL!

We all have SO many daily blessings that we fail to recognize and also fail to recognize who the supplier of them is.

Well, back to relaxing, think I will go finish my daily bible reading :o)

~Greetings Fellow Blogger Friends~

Almost the end of the week, where did it go! I think mine was taken up by moving my art studio. I didn't realize how much 'stuff' I had and how much stuff I finally had to throw away. I went through everything even down to each bead. Just wanted to make sure that I would never have to go through that again, yikes! It was worth all the time and work I have to admit. It came together much better than I even could imagine. The only thing left to do is to decorate the walls and that is the fun part! Right now they are pretty much a blank canvas so maybe some creative painting on them or framed artwork or both LOL who knows. I have a 5 yr old so I am sure she could take care of some of the space :o) I will post pics next week and will also post the giveaway on Monday (3-23)!

I am so excited to introduce a new line of 'playing house' collages. Above is the first one in the collection and I love them! I am creating more now so others on the way soon! I just listed the one above in my etsy shop if you want to stop by a visit :o)

aRt JoURnEy
Repurposed Collage

Good evening friends. Hope all is well. What a busy day here. Little one is still not feeling well but I pray that she is on the mend. My hubby was off work today so I made a 'honey do' list. He hung up our pull down window shades, I LOVE them, they look so much different. We live in a home that was built in 1910 so they just seem to match the style better.
On the list for tomorrow is a huge task! My art studio gets an upgrade...yes! It moves to a larger room, yay!! I have out grown the room I am in now so I am so excited. But boy, what work it will be. So many little things to move. As I said in the last post...I can't throw things away LOL! I will post pics of my 'new studio' as soon as it is picture worthy :o)
~*~
On the art topic, today we have a repurposed/recycled matchbox. This is my new addiction! You will see lots more of these ahead. I've found all sizes. Just finished and sold a tiny one now this one is much larger...so much whimsy can be added to these.
Featuring a vintage sophisticated beauty hidden inside !The lady inside is proclaiming 'take the road less traveled'.All of us on our own 'art journey'!

Thank you for stopping by my little corner of the web...

Shadowbox Collage

Greetings fellow bloggers! I hope this post finds all of you well. The Lord is definetly been with my family! My hubby is on the mend so our prayer is that he will be healed to preach Sunday(he's a pastor for those who didn't know). It was awesome on Wednesday because eventhough we could not make it to our church prayer meeting (hubby and daughter both sick) a few of our men took charge and led the meeting. It is such a blessing to have freinds in our lives :o) I am also so grateful to have fellow artists that encourage me and show concern when we're 'hurting'. Thank you all! My daughter is doing a little better, no fever so far today, yay! She is the best patient ever, always smiles and never complains. Makes Mommy want to cry.
Come on spring, I am ready!

On a cReaTIve note...Featured today we have a victorian shadowbox. This piece came about from a repurposed box lid! You know me, never throw anything out LOL! It is amazing to see what can be done with things that would normally get throw away, a little imagination and a little whimsy, add them together, and it equals a original piece of art!

GIVEAWAY update--I promise I haven't forgotten, things have just been crazy here. Next week I plan to post my first giveaway item!! So excited to offer a ....well, you'll just have to wait and see LOL! Patience is a virture :o)
